Snowbound
An old native indian word for the Canadian province of Quebec is 'KEBEC', which, roughly translated, means 'narrowing' or the 'meeting' of the waters, a description inspired by the St. Lawrence river. In the year 2000 I was living just outside London, and it was there where I met my love. However, as soon as we had crossed paths she was due to return to her native Quebec, over 3000 miles away, and a place of hard winter snows. I had never envisaged such a move, but hey, you never know what's 'round the corner, you can only follow your heart. So this song is a celebration of the joy of reuniting, and heeding the call of destiny. It features special guest on fiddle, the inimitable STEVE WICKHAM.
I can't help myself from falling.
I can feel it in my bones.
It's the truth I've heard a calling.
Oh so far away from home.
(hey sing it)
We'll meet again
At the meeting of the waters, baby
We'll meet again
At the meeting of the waters.
And if we're snowbound,
We'll be safe, and sound,
Wrapped in your duvet (underneath your duvet)
And if we're snowbound
We can fool around,
And make love all day, in our special way.
And if we're snowbound, hey will we be bound,
To fall in love.
I can hear those voices calling.
They keep ringing in my ears.
Sounds of ancient voices calling.
What they're saying is oh so clear.
(they're singing)
We'll meet again
At the meeting of the waters, baby
We'll meet again
At the meeting of the waters.
And if we're snowbound,
We'll be safe, and sound,
Wrapped in your duvet (underneath your duvet)
And if we're snowbound
We can fool around,
And make love all day, in our special way.
And if we're snowbound, hey will we be bound,
To fall in love.
